New here, just getting into riding, and I already have three Cannondales. This stuff is worse than shopping for shoes!

Welcome from another Hotlantan. There are lots of Atlanta area folks here. Where do you ride?

I'm new here too.
Just back from a ten year hiatus from cycling and much worse for it. I'm out in Douglasville. Riding to the end of the road until I can get some wind back.

How long is the road? ;)
If anyone is interested we are trying to set up a BF group ride of some sort on the Silver Comet Trail. So who's up for a ride?

Road's not too long :(
I've been going a couple miles throuh some hills in the neighboring sub-divisions.
The Silver Comet is a near term goal though. At this point, it might be silly to cart the bike up there though.

PM me when you've got something set-up, I'm down for riding with others.

Cory
Wanted to ride yesterday but it was SO hot!

Hi Ron,

Sorry for the late reply - I forgot that I had posted in this forum!

I during the week around Brookhaven/Silver Lakes, but looking for more intown rides until it's too dark after work. Weekends, my plan is to do Silver Comet one day for distance, Stone Mountain Path the other, to get a hill workout.

Where else do folks ride? I'm pretty new, but I do about 40 on the Silver Comet, and starting at the Dekalb Farmer's Market out to Stone Mountain, a few loops around the park and back - with a run into the Market for muffins afterwards!

I forgot to write what I ride!

I have an R1000 here, and another one that lives in Miami.

Just curious, but do you live near the Dekalb Farmer's Market or Brookhaven?
If you live near Brookhaven, stop by Free-Flite Bicycles (3165 Peachtree Road NE) and ask if there are any rides that leave from the shop or nearby.
If you live near DFM, there are always riders (single, pairs, small groups) riding from Decatur/Avondale heading to Stone Mtn every evening after work.

You can also check the Southern Bicycle League's excellent ride calendar (http://www.bikesbl.org/calendar.php) for ride information in any area of town.

Hi Ron,

I live near Brookhaven, and have good roads to get up there (well, as good as North Druid can be!) but I have no problem loading up the bike and taking her in my car. I'm up for a BikeForums ride if you put one together. I just put a computer on my bike, and I'm not as slow as I thought I was!
