I recently picked this stuff up on Craigslist for a VERY good price and the frame is far too small and I don't ride fixed so I'll be selling both.

The frame has been heavily used. It has considerable wear and is dirty. When the frame is flipped around, I can hear dirt or rust sliding through the seat stays. It doesn't sound like very much and I'm not sure if it should be a big worry. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. It has Oria ML 25 tubing. My Giordana has the same tubing and it rides sooooo nicely.

The headset and bottom bracket are Superbe Pro, both of which need to be overhauled.

The rims are FIR Quasar and are covered in glue. The hubs are dirty but all of the threads look and feel fine. They spin smoothly. The rear says Campagnolo Record. The front only says Campagnolo. They look the same to me.

I'm watching the exact same frame in blue on Ebay and it's up to 405.00. Although, it's in better condition.

I'm headed back to California from Nashville on Friday and am trying to sell it before I leave. I don't know how much to charge. I try to be as fair as possible!

I'd say your best bet would be to capitalize on the auction that is already going on. List it just the frame/fork on ebay with a BIN of $500; there are 42 bids on that blue one and someone will buy yours even though it is in rough shape.

Sell the wheelset on CL for $150 as it sits.

What about disclosing the sound of sliding dirt or rust inside of the seat stays? The pictures will take care of the rest. Thank you so much for the help!

I have something like that in a fork and I always figured it was some extra little piece of metal or flux that was used in the welding process.

I would doubt it is rust or dirt since the only way that an object can get in there is through the tiny little venting holes. I could be wrong though, do you have any way to know what it is, exactly?

I just turned it over and shook it over my hand. I can't really tell what it is and there's not a lot of it. Should I just spray a bunch of WD-40 in the holes and see if it stops? Haha.

instead of WD40 use Wiegle's frame saver.
Is that brake scouring on the rims? I'm betting someone rode those
with a fixed conversion with brakes.
and that is one of the sloppiest glue jobs I've seen.

Yeah, pretty terrible, the hubs are probably worth something, maybe sell them as a set on eBay and you might get lucky. The hubs could travel back with you to CA very easily...you can then spend a bit of time cleaning them up.

^^ That's what I was thinking. Yeah, the glue is all over the place.

I just saw a very similar set sell for 220.00 on ebay.

Can anyone comment on only one hub saying "record" on it?

in the early 60's and before the record track hubs didn't have "record" stamped into them. (this may have been true for the road hubs as well)

Thanks for the info. Upon further inspection, the threads on the rear bolts have been smashed a bit too much and the nuts won't thread on...
