Classic & Vintage - Gloves recommendations

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Anyone have "half-finger" gloves that they particularly like, that are currently available in one way or another?
My priorities:
Decent hand padding, especially at the heel of the palm on the side below the little finger
Velcro or other closure that's durable and reliable -- cheap velcro seems to be a common failing
Understated
Something on the back to wipe my brow or nose with, occasionally, that doesn't feel like ship's rigging (i.e. the old net style)
Last awhile without falling apart
Cool enough to use all year (for winter I just wear them inside some $5 fleece full gloves)
C&V? Who cares when it comes to gloves? -- I don't ride in bell-bottoms or have a "helmet" hairdo (anymore).
Links would be most helpful.
Thanks,

I really recommend two...the Louis Garneu half gloves are terrific as are the Pearl Izumi Attacks.
As a general policy, I've found the Louise Garneu customer support to be amazing and friendly, so I try to give them business when appropriate. I have had nothing but great experiences with LG, and strongly recommend them.

I've been using these for about 6 months, and they seem adequately sturdy and comfortable, and they've got the C&V look. They are crocheted, but there is a snot rag on the thumb which is soft and does the job. And they're cheap!

I really like Cannondale LE gloves. Nice durable padding, felted area for nose and sweat, no velcro (this is a plus in terms of endurance and a slight minus in terms of ease of use...though, looking at the picture, it appears the newer model has a velcro strap). They've lasted well so far (though I've only had them through the summer)

That's what I use. I like them too. Plus they come in plain old black... well plus some reflective stuff.

I love mine too but I'm a nubie, rode with them until the cold hit here in Wisconsin. Switched to my CC ski gloves the last 2 weeks.
