I've gone and done it again; bought one of them bikes with rare tire sizes that nobody seems to have.

It's the 419 mm / 20 x 1 3/4" S-7 tires. Not the other 20" size tires(451mm). And not the 406mm 20" bmx tires.

Did the Schwinn family originate in France or something?

And failing to score some of these tires, where is a good source for coaster brake hub 20" 406mm ERD wheels? I can't use the larger size because then the fenders wouldn't fit and without the fenders the bike would look like a boy's bike; cool but not sophisticated.

The continued love and respect of my third granddaughter is at stake here. Please help.

Replace the wheels with the more common 406mm BMX size. You'll never be able to find tires and tubes for the oddball Schwinn size today. No one stocks them.

and if you do, I can almost guarantee they'll be dry rotted.

And once again, the "you can't get that" naysayers are silenced.

continentalbikeshop is an e-bay seller that has them. Fellows just wrote of the freshness of old tires. From what I read, it wo'nt be problem with him.. See for yourself but I reckon that he imports them. Cost is 35 each. I found him under top sellers having remembered using the Schwinn specialists for wheels one time, a chain guard, grips etc.

Thanks a million, Old Fat Guy!!

I ordered an extra set so that when she outgrows the bike, I can pass it along to someone and they'll have some tires for it.

I'm gonna let you guys in on a secret.

There is this thing called 'The Google', and when you type in something, it tells you what you need to know.

Of course I tried Google. :thumb: I also tried every cycling store in my bookmarks. I used all the variations of the name of the tire(419 mm / 20 x 1 3/4" S-7 tires. ), included Schwinn, the name of the bike (a Barbie), etc.

Interestingly, when I tried your 'Let me google that for you', it did not show the website you linked me to originally. Or maybe it did, I only looked through the first eight pages.

I do not call upon the powers of C & V lightly. ;)

edit: wtf? I tried that link again and there she was, tucked in with some eBay ads for Stingray tires.

Maybe I should go back to using Dogpile.

edit: Shopzilla returns two options, both from Bikeworldusa.com they do not see the Pork Chop site.

Using the earlier Google search in Dogpile discovered nothing.

That's where it always was for me.

If you go to Google Shopping, it's the first link.

Maybe I should try Google Shopping for "Italian racing frames, cheap" :)

Try CL and look for poor ads with misspellings. It works for me:thumb:
