No but I have a Miyata Seven Ten & that could be close. Mine is Dark Metallic blue with a contrasting yellow headtube. It has SunTour Cyclone derailleurs with downtube shifters, Ukai 700cc rims and SunTour hubs with a six speed freewheel. I added a Pivo drop bar & a set of Campy track pedals. Pretty nice riding bike. Mid level bike...105 components. Triple butted splined tubing. Late 80's early 90's designed as entry level club racer. Its a super tough bike that will last as long as you'd like to keep it. Whats the seat tube decal say? Color? Internal rear brake cable? Are the holes in the frame re-inforced? Is the fork the same color as the frame?

My Miyata 712 has all 105 components, rear brake cable internal to frame, 7 speed index on downtube. It is mostly white, with some red. The frame and fork have decals that fade frome red through to pink.
What year is this thing? I got it at a swap meet over the weekend. Any information will help.
I concur with MiamiJim's comments, with the exception that the model 712 was produced for only two years, 1987 & 1988.
Louisville, your model is 1988, based on the color scheme.
Ollo Ollo, your 710 is the predecessor to the 712. The dark blue (steel blue is Miyata's terminology) with yellow head tube indicates that it is a 1986 model.

Thanks for the feedback. I bought it mostly for the components, and got lucky with the frame. I did not realize Miyata had such solid reputation. I'm will finally retire my 1983 Nishiki sport. It has been through the ringer.

You should see TheCahill's Nishiki Sport. That thing had seen it's better days long before he got it. We caniblized it a few weeks ago for the stem and handlebars to build his centurian. Hope you enjoy the Miyata. It's one (of many) brands I haven't had the pleasure of seeing in person as of yet.
