Pacific Northwest - 3 day rides in the Seattle area

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm looking to do a 2 or 3 day ride in the Seattle area. I'm not looking to go really far, maybe 50-75 miles a day and then camp. I live in Seattle, and was thinking about the San Juan Islands, but I'm open to any ideas people have. I'm probably going to wait till the spring to do it, but wanted to see what is out there and what others have done. What has everyone else done, and any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

now that its winter till spring you've got to stay low and the days are short.
1) ride to portland via bremerton and the west side, and take train back.
2)Hood Canal Loop adding Port Townsend as 2nd night out if you want extra miles.
3) Port Townsend. hang out extra day because the town is so cool or ride whidbey as day trip from PT.
4)Port Angeles (Salt Creek county park is year round and very nice!) and return.
5)the San Juans, if you drive to the ferry terminal. Otherwise you spend two full days, easy, getting to them via bike leaving from seattle. i don't know of many people who've caught a san juan island ferry the same day they leave seattle but i guess it could be done. ?
My first and best recommendation as a winter bike trip from Seattle is Port Townsend, staying at Fort Worden.
Hands down the best winter bike destination within nice striking distance from Seattle. Do it!
