Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Ok, this is the kind of bike I want

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Fixed gear of course, but full front / rear brake setup for the street, a basket in front, a horn, shock absorbing forks, and a bike seat with back support. Oh yeah, streamers too. And big beefy tires, and the back tire should be considerably larger than the front. Anyone got one for sale? Finder$ Fee!

Your pals might want to pick their friends more carefully, lest they be finding themselves riding on the pegs of a fixed stingray. Man, you make me wish I was 11 again! Stay young and fearless as long as you can!

Oh yeah brah, you may have detected a bias against fixed bike/fixies on my part. I'm ignorant about how it actually works, if it has two brakes as you decribed then it's as easy to stop as a freewheel bike? Or nearly so? If that's the case than I don't disrepect track bike riders w brakes and they don't have to use the brakes (keeping it real?) unless to avoid pregnant pedestrian baby carraige and such. Still I'm not riding a track bike in traffic in the saddle or on your pegs! I should learn to ride one so I can own an opinion about this. Ride on, friend.
