Patrick has conducted many group-buys before and proven himself to be a trustworthy business man. I don't think you should have a problem. Perhaps you are not familiar with the group buy format as you seem to be thinking in the lines of retail, as in pay-money-get-product-instantly. As an example, I have participated in a relatively straight forward group buy (Kinlin Rims, very straight forward compared to a frame set group buy), paid for the rims in early November, and just got a shipping confirmation from the organizer two days ago. These types of mass orders always take some time as the group buy organizers usually don't have a warehouse full of equipment/merchandise they're offering for the group buy.

just heard from the man himself saying he's sick. I'll be waiting for the items. After it arrives , i will clear this whole issue and apologise for all the inconvenience

Yeah I would have been a bit paranoid as well if it wasn't anyone without a previous business history. I'm glad it is sorted out though.

I was also planning to buy from him. I think i will just buy from velocitebikes. he's got some good bikes too.

how weird Pat just emailed me last night when i and some more questions about the groupbuy.

and this was his response:
"If you'd like to go smaller size, I have some Scott CR1 frames in size 52cm to clear. it's got 53cm toptube. $950 shipped.
I've talked to him yesterday. He couldn't contact me because I had a very nasty fever for a week =(

Not defending, i'm interested in this groupbuy as well and like others i'm hesitant to shell out money to someone that doesnt have a working site and only emails etc

sorry folks there have been a series of incidents on my side, like me getting a fever, my cousin's company being out of business (and my website is on his server computer...) and very unstable connection with BF.net..

Just got the frame/fork. Still missing are the seatpost/ rival groupset. Waiting for replies here.

It's another shipment for remainder parts soon. Anyway frame is really light. Good stuff from Patrick.

I thought i was the only unlucky one.. Pat has done his disappearing act again. To Big Red, there are many reasons for preference of group buy.
Reasonable pricing, online shoppers, well documented are a few. Anyway weightweenies have a few of pat frames.
Don't think weightweenies have any group buy. So i think all have been here at Bike forums and seen the groupbuy threads.

I have been cool and say a few praises for Patrick. He hasn't delivered what's been paid. I have sent 2 emails and not being answered.
For now that's make him a cheat. I think i have saw his picture with some forummer here. Next week I will expose this guy if I am not getting what i deserve.

I would like to order Neo Exile Plus frameset and Sram Force groupset. So far (in January and February) we exchanged several email to make a deal (the last email he sent me was from Feb 8). He responded very fast to my emails. He wrote to me he will be back from Chinese New Year holidays after Feb 20. Let's hope Patrick sort the things out, soon.

I can attest that Patrick is a straight shooter and delays happen. I have been in communication with him via EM and he has been very prompt in answering. Cut him some slack.

So how many people paid and are waiting for items from Patrick? I am not personally but I have done business with Patrick in the past and he was fair and honest with me...I got the original Neo Exile and some other parts from the original group buy and everything came in within a reasonable amount of time and the cost was fantastic. The original Exile is a great bike IMO.

It's a shame, my Neo is a fantastic bike...I would love to get another one maybe with some of the new advancements in BB design and HTs...like a tapered HT and one of the oversized BB standards. I'm half thinking of getting a new bike but then I take a ride like today on my Neo and there really is no reason to.

yeah you should get a new Neo. Exile Ultimate and Hyper would be a huge upgrade over the 09 Exile.
