Yesterday I had some time to start overhauling the early-80s Schwinn Voyageur touring bike that has been hanging in my garage since last June. As I worked on the bike first one thing then another caught my eye until it dawned on me that many of the frame details are identical to my mid-late-80s Bianchi Brava. Same Tange CroMo tubing, same lugs, similar if not identical dropouts, same integral seat tube clamping arrangement. I knew that the old Voyaguer was considered an excellent bike in its day, but I was pretty excited at the apparent quality of the frame itself. This bike will become my fixed gear ride because of the horizontal dropouts like the Bianchi which is currently fixed gear. The frame is actually about 2 centimeters too big, but I can compensate with adjustments. It will only be an occasional commuter (22 miles RT) and errand ride so the fit shouldn't be a problem.
