Apparently this is a widespread problem from some googles I've taken a look at... and some people haven't been able to access for days.

I just created a holder profile, searched for myself, and it says "that profile is not available at the moment."

This is apparently a very widespread problem and getting worse fast. They say they have a 'database issue' but no timetable for fixing it.

Thanks for your report. Some users have been experiencing difficulty logging into and using the site for several days. Specific symptoms of this issue include:

• Inability to log in due to a "Site Maintenance" error message
• Missing friends from the Friends page
• Errors when trying to access Inbox

Unfortunately, we do not have a specific date for when this issue will be resolved, but we are working to fix it as soon as possible. Please note that this is a temporary display issue and no content has been removed from your account. Although we are unable respond to every bug report individually, we are reading them. Ha... this will hurt the revenue model... especially if it turns out that they can't fix it and lose access to thousands (or more) accounts.

Still down for me... but I was able to create a new account... if it doesn't come back I guess I'll have to refriend all the people - what a pain in the ass.

You can fix that.

To Restore the old Facebook look... Go to top left menu and click more. Click on status updates and drag it to the top. After dragging it there click on it. That becomes your default and it will be like it was before.
