I recenlty crashed and destroyed a Surly Crosscheck I used for touring. It was good bike and comfortable enough but not quite perfect for loading front and rear.

Now I am looking at a Gunnar Fastlane. It has exactly what I am looking for in a touring frame - downtube shift bosses, chanstay disc brake, room for fat tires, and full braze ons for racks front and rear. Only downside to this frame is chainstay length is not on par with other dedicated touring frames but that can be overcome.

So I know I like and want this frame but I can't check it out in person. Can anyone here comment on experiences they have had with this frame? Have you any pictures of a built up Fastlane loaded for the road?

I'm really curious about this frame too. Between it and the disk version of the Soma Double Cross, and Soma's tasty new touring frame (which is heavier-duty, I think), there are some interesting new choices going right now.

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
