"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - large purchase, small irony

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Just got a serious deal on a Dura Ace SRM on ebay ($1400!!!) - unit needs new batteries, was skeptical but fired after a brief message to the seller went for it. It now makes sense as the seller was Ivan Dominguez and it was the one that stayed at home while he was in Europe and whatnot. Wonder if it comes with any of his speed...

I sat next to Bo Diddley on a plane and talked to him about music for the whole ride. So, when will the Rock and Roll HOF call my name?:roflmao2:
I sat at a table next to Philip Glass's table at a restaurant. My wife knew that I was a big fan and kept nudging me to say "hello". I didn't want to disturb his dinner.
Two very close personal friends of mine are now dead: Hans von Ohain and Daniel C. Drucker. I would go out drinking beers with these guys. If you are an engineering geek you will recognize two of the most important engineers of the 20th Century.

That's pretty cool. It's nice to know the history of a tool you use like that. (like my table saw, from a good friend's father's estate)

+1, including some of Ivan's teammates recently.

I have a bike in the garage I got from a multiple national champion, world class elite and olympic racer.
I'm still slow though even when I ride it and some of the parts have minor rust:(

I knew who Ohain was as I'm an aviation enthusiast but had to look up Drucker. I envy you for having such close friends sir.
