I'm planning to ride from Trenton to Torresdale/ northern Philadelphia this Sunday, to get to a wedding. I see that my route takes me past the D&L Trail Delaware Canal Towpath.

Here's my rough route:

I've heard that the towpath on the Pennsylvania side was washed out some years back, and is in disrepair. Has anyone ridden on it recently, from the Calhoun Street Bridge down to Bristol? (From what I can see, the path ends there.)

Thanks!

only been as far north as croydon/somerton (nabisco factory, didn't make it to neshaminy mall in time for a movie) and i can confidently say that the further NE you get away from philly you see lots more fast moving metal with no regard for you and your 10-20mph. and no sidewalk or shoulder to speak of. so while the bridge and trail may be possible you'll be at odds with traffic to get where you're going. and you may see more than one no pedestrians, no bikes road signs in your way.

have gps and freshly researched roads with maintenance condition and average daily traffic handy.
