With the recent fires, does anyone know if the trails around JPL are open for riding? How would I find this info out?

people are riding up Brown Mtn pretty regularly now it seems. I haven't done it yet and don't know the contdition of El Preito. Check Socalmtb.com too.
i noticed that the "closed" sign that used to be mounted at the gate next to the parking lot was gone yesterday so I decided to go for it. the fireroad up to the saddle (or whatever its called) is in pretty good condition with only a few rocky sections (still passable even with a cross bike). from the saddle to the top (ken burton entrance) its really washed out with big rocks all over the road. probably best to avoid that section till it gets fixed.
the fire really cleared out everything and its quite sad to see it now... but IMO the road visually looks to be safe and should be easy for them to fix
