Just moved from Seward Park neighborhood to West Seattle and am looking for some training ride loops.

30-60 miles, less traffic the better, less parked cars the better, less stop signs the better etc.

I figure there has to be quite a few racers/fitness riders/tri-athletes in the area.

I'm not a racer but like to ride at a decent tempo without having to stop all the time or worry about to much traffic.

I know about Vashon but that isn't viable all the time.

Thanks

You could do the Duwamish trail to Fort Dent then cut through Renton to the Cedar River trail and ride to Maple Valley that is 60 mils r/t from Alki (near Dukes) I think I have this one routed on my computer at home I will check this weekend and post it if you are interested.

there's a big loop you can ride in west seattle that seems like you hardly have to stop at all. Alki Beach, to Fauntleroy ferry terminal, up the big hill and barton across white center to westcrest? park, then down highland park way (a 50mph downhill if you've got the cojones!) to the duwamish river trail and back around to the west seattle bridge and back to alki on the path or road.

its short, like the magnolia loop but a little longer. combine the west seattle loop with a mercer island loop or a magnolia loop to make about 30, 35 miles i'm reckoning.

You can also follow Beach Drive past the ferry dock, up the hill and follow the coast line. You can get to Burien via this route, with killer hills and light traffic for the most part...you can see the route on any map of the area, but if you need specifics, let me know. Killer hills. I am not kidding.
