Looking to trade in my existing bikes for a decent flat bar road bike to use in all weather commuting. Not sure what kind of bike is best, have been riding the lowest qual sirrus and lost 30lbs. want a better quality bike and maybe a little quicker.

Trek fx series. I ride a 7.5, but if you don't want a carbon fork look at the 7.3 and 7.2.

I've got the Trek FX 7.3. It was my first bike that I bought 3 months ago. With the 700 x 32's on it, it was a great road bike. I did a couple metric centuries on it with no problems. I've since bought a road bike, switched the tires on the FX to 700 x 35 nobbies and use it as my trail bike. The lower pressure in the tires make it a comfortable bike on the road.

+ 1 on the Trek FX Series. I have an 09 FX 7.6 and it has been a good companion for the last few months. Easy riding, fast, and an excellent gear range with the triple. Shifters, and bars are comfortable, and the riding position is just fine for 12-16 mph rides. Drop bars would be nice if I were going 22-25 but I'm a turtle after all. :)

Look at your old bike for upgrade before shopping about.

Does it fit well and comfortable? If it does, a new set of wheels, say Mavic Askiums, will make a world of difference then the OEM Alex wheels that came with the low level Sirrus.
