I've been looking for a soldering iron with a very small tip or inter-changeable tips, including a small one. I want to do some DIY LED lights. I don't have any big box stores that close so I've been looking at my local Ace and True Value. Truthfully, I wasn't impressed with most of their soldering irons, they aren't that cheap either and none seem to have small tips. I think I'd pass on the $3.00 iron, you know there was no quality control in the Chinese plant where it was made if it's being sold for $3.00.

I was in the store and apples were on sale. Are they tasty? Should I buy some?

3 is cheap. The pen/iron will be crap but should work. The worst thing that could happen is you waste 3 bucks + cost of solder.
