General Cycling Discussion - Anyone have a "Bikebrain" Palm computer?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I found this (www.bikebrain.com) on the web today. I don't have a Palm, but this my sway me to get one...
Main features over a standard bike computer (except the bigger characters, which I like):
- You can record your training rides and upload them to your PC and analize the data with charts, graphs, etc.
- You can load them with maps/directions from the Bikebrain website, or even make your own.
There's some testimonials on the website, but I would like to hear from any BF members that my have experience with Bikebrain.
Thanks - Ken

I have very little experience with my own brain, much less my bike's.
Just kidding. Maybe someday!
It looks very interesting!
Think it would be kind`a distracting tho`all that information flashing at you if your trying to concentrate on a specific manoevre!!!

Looks like a fun toy, but I have to admit that I would be a little hesitant to mount my palm pilot to my handle bars. It kind of looks like software that does a whole lot of good stuff, but I don't know if there are very many people who really need or want all that information. But again, I congratulate them on a cool device.

It looks like a cool toy. The device waterproofing method (see the FAQs) is a bit lacking.
The capability to load cue sheets is pretty cool. The large size is useful, too, since more information can be displayed at one time. With my Flight Deck, I have to scroll through the information, which is also distracting. With heavy gloves, I cannot operate the buttons at all. Hmmmm....
I've been a Palm user since, I think, 1997. I would definitely not mount one of mine on handlebars. :(
Be aware that Palm devices are not for everybody. If you enjoy fiddling with technology, fine, but if you're already annoyed (as you have every right to be) by your desktop/laptop operating system, software stupidities, etc., then you're just going to multiply your woes going to Palm.
On the other hand, I like my Palm unit mainly for two things: (1) being able to store classic novels, etc. downloaded from the Web to read anywhere, anytime; (2) keeping all my data in one place: passwords, appointments, addresses, etc. It is phenomenally useful for that, and fairly (though not totally) secure.
Whatever happened to the BikeBrain (http://www.bikebrain.com/) or the Bikini (http://home.swipnet.se/~w-51358/pilot/default.htm)? They seem like such good ideas...

Dunno but if you combine that with GPS and a HRM and MAN would that be a nice unit.
