Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Steel Dropout Protectors for Langster, where to find/buy online?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Does anybody know where one can find/buy a replacement set of the steel dropout protectors for a Specialized Langster? I've spoken with numerous Specialized shops about it, where they have had to contact Specialized to find out if they can order a set. Many have not responded back, after weeks, and a some have told me that they can't get them(?!).
Is there anyone else who has found them, online, with any measure of success?

A specialized dealer should be able to get you some. They are not always in stock though and they'll send you the same cheesy ones that already failed you. My coworker rides his langsters a lot and goes through a lot of those. Mine are about at that point where they need to be replaced now too. The stock hubs on a langster have small jam nuts that really dig in to those dropout savers. I'm gonna see if I can't get one of my metal working friends to fab up some out of some nicer stainless or something. I could file the smashed part down flush again but the threaded holes on the inside plates are mostly stripped now so my wheel is the only thing really holding them on now.
