This fun, easy bike ride is mostly an excuse to get creative and bring some light to a winter evening. We start at Krutch Park and bike around downtown a bit, just to make sure all the people strolling see us, then tour 4th & Gill and Old North Knoxville looking at holiday yard displays. There are prizes for the best decorated bicyclist, bicycle and helmet. And if that weren't enough, Mast General greets our return with hot cocoa and cookies! It's free. Helmets are required, because we care about your brain. Sponsored by the City of Knoxville, the Knoxville Regional Bicycle Program and Mast General Store.

Tour de Lights is the Cool Ride of the month in December's issue of Bicycling magazine!

I'm uncreative and don't have mobile Christmas lights, but perhaps I'll check it out this year if the weather cooperates.

You don't need creativity. Some people are creative and wear costumes and/or lots of lights. I probably won't do anything very special special -- it's still fun.

You do need basic lights.

The wife and I plan to attend this years Tour de Lights not sure what to expect but plan on having a good time.
