I bought a 2500 Sekai Touring Series road bike, manufactured Japan 1985 from its first owner back in 1992. Paid around $200 for it. Has had limited use and is in Good condition. Knowing very little about bike appraisals I was wondering if someone could give me a ball park $ on what it might be worth.

Value can vary substantially depending on the local market conditions. Where do you live?
However, I can tell you that the 1985 Sekai 2500 was a lower, mid-range bicycle and originally sold for $325 US.

Bike is worth around $200 to $250, depending on your market. Around here, probably closer to just $200. Mountech RDs were one of the few bad Suntour derailleurs. Sekai is a good brand, but does not get the buyer recognition that other Japanese brands do.
Lower the handlebar stem, lower the seat and level it off slightly, touch up a few paint scrapes (try polishing compound first) and it is ready for sale.
Thanks for the info. Surprises me that it would be in that price range. Was going to donate to Goodwill but maybe will hold on to it. I'm finding the forum to be a friendly user site. Thanks again
