I have been training for the 2010 IM FL for about 9 months and now it is only a year away . I was wondering what people thought after their first long course race, would you do it again or was once enough.

Ironman is like crack..... Mmmmmmm..... Roctane.......

Anyways, it looks like you're going to have proper training and IMFL is an awesome course..... I expect you to crush the bike! That is all.

Have fun on it! And I'll see you there in 2011, lol.

Did my first iron distance tri about 3 months back (Vineman full, in 11:59) and headed to IMAZ in 3 weeks for my second.

Will do Vineman full again next year, who knows, after that.

10 miles into the run, I thought "No effing way am I ever doing this again." I think it only lasted until around breakfast the following morning.

Yeah, a lot of things go through your head during the day. I think it was about Mile 18 on the run when I was thinking about the Kona Lottery that was happening the next day and I remember thinking to myself, "Please God...don't let them draw my name tomorrow."

Sort of like that ^

But, the next day you were praying that you would get your name drawn.

Well the 2010 IMFL sold out in short order and due to overloaded servers on Active I wasn't able to get in. But all is not lost I did sign up for The Great Floridian which is a couple of weeks before IMFL. TGF is an iron distance race but not part of the I dot M business.

I'm actually going for a non M Dot race for my next Ironman. I'm doing vineman this upcoming summer.

Awesome! I definitely expect it to be different than IMAZ. Hopefully I can finish it off at CA (I blew up 4 miles from the finish at AZ and had to walk for about 25 minutes.)

that sucks man! i was lucky enough to get in and register.

i'm crazy stoked! (even though a skiier plowed into me and tore my MCL 4 weeks ago i'm already back in the saddle pounding the pedals!!)

sorry to hear you weren't able to register but good luck on becoming an Ironman!!!!!
