Hey I saw a 1982 Nishiki Marina 12 on Craigslist. I was wondering what a good price on this bike is. The frame is in excellent condition with no rust just some paint chips. It also comes with 105 brake levers, Dura-Ace shifters, and the rest Suntour components I think.

Thanks.

I have an 81 Marina. It's an entry level bike with a Hi-ten frame and the original rims are steel chrome. The 105 brake levers on the bike you're looking at are not original, but that's OK because they're probably aero levers which are a major upgrade. Dura-Ace shifters are prossibly index and would be another upgrade.
As I said, the original 81 Marina had steel rims so take a magnet to check them out. I would not be surprized to find alloy rims based on the other upgrades you mentioned. It is possible Nishiki upgraded the Marina to alloy in 82, but I don't know.
As for value, I'd like to know more about the bike, but given what you've provided: if the rims are alloy, the shifters are index and the brakes are aero and if it's a ready to ride bike as is, I'd estimate $100 to $150. If the rims are steel and the shifters are friction, not quite as much. What's holding me back from a higher estimate is the Hi-ten frame. I don't think the 82 Marina was upgraded to chromoly. In 1983 the Marina model was discontinued.

Thanks for the information. The frame says it is chrome molybdenum.
The RD and FD are Suntour Seven.
Crankset Sugino.
Braksets Dia-Compe.
Not sure about the DA shifters. They are just friction shifters though. There is a sticker on the seat tube that says Shimano Dura-Ace EX System Components.
Rims are not steel. There is sticker saying Cerchi Nisi Moncalieri
Hubs say Maillard, Made in France.

I got it for 40 bucks. The frame is in excellent condition. I spent about three hours regreasing both hubs, bottom bracket, changing all cables and housing, cleaning the chain, chainrings, and fixing the brakes. Runs pretty smoothly now.

Anyone else? I was thinking about selling this bike.

It could worth up to $100-150 to someone in the right market if it is running and adjusted properly...

Yes, it could be worth 150. The individual who might end-up paying more would be getting a solid deal in any case from all that you've stated. Paint flaws matter little.

have a 1980 Nishki blue color and white decals. shimano tourney fd and rd dia-comp brakes chrome rims that are rusty and frame has rust. Will be my 2nd rebuild after the Bianchi randonneur, not much info on these rides, this forum has helped a lot. I have only $10 invested in these 2 bikes so I can rebuild using same components and not have to spend to much, The Nishilki is 59 on seat tube and 57 top tube.Hope to find more info on these rides
