Does anyone have one of these?

I just bought one. MTBR has pretty good reviews and the price is significantly lower than a lot of the online stores. I didn't know if it was really any good because sometimes the reviews on mtbr suck.
I needed it because the headlight is out on my car and I am too lazy to get a new bulb. I was going to buy the cigarette lighter charger for it.

This light is the way to go for brightness and price. I have two and they're great.

Yeah I got one too and it is great. It's definitely the one to go with.:thumb:
But on a side note, I think in reality it's around 500 lumens not the claimed 900, which still great for the money. :D

Did you say your headlight went out on your car and you wanna use a bike light for your driving?
I don't know how lazy you are but a car light bulb will cost you around $10 and the LED bike light with shipping around $90.

Just a joke. I am getting ready to do some 12/24 hour races and need a light for that as well as I commute to work and I work night shift and it is dark now when I have to leave at 5:30.

this will last >3 hrs. I have one and have ridden it on singletrack with no problems. Super bright and super lightweight.

It actually has five modes, hi, med, low, strobe and SOS.

Nice! How easy is it to remove when it comes time to lock up? Can it be removed 2 - 3x daily without wearing down the components?

yep super easy battery pack attaches on the stem with Velcro and light goes in the handle bar with a thick rubber band and attaches securely. Rubber band doesn't sound to secure but it is, also my niterider uses the same rubberband attachment.

for singletrack, is it reasonable to just use one? or is it necessary to have two? also, is it possible to mount one to a helmet somehow in the latter case?

I have a single helmet mount light and it works just fine on single track. I wish I had a backup, just in case, but if the light every dies on the trail I can just walk out with a flashlight. Most lights seem to either come with a helmet mount or have an optional one you can buy. If using a single light for single track I'd definitely recommend a helmet mount.

I am fairly new to the night time riding but after a few rides I learned that it's best to have light on the helmet and handle bar but if you only have one for two reasons I say go with the helmet mount.
First, if you are climbing steep and techical trail you are never tracking a straight line, your handle bar moves side to side every second that makes it hard to see what's directly a head of you.
Second, as you are coming down it ables you to see around the bend much easier.

I'm new to the night riding as well (at least with a light) and have been using the Princeton Tec Switchback 3 (http://www.crankcollective.com/openreview.php?review=68&category=ALL&page=0) with the helmet mount. I'd like to get a lighter bar mounted led to augment, but don't think its totally necessary. It is so fun riding familiar trails at night - adds a great twist.

That is a very good choice for your intended purposes.

I got the light yesterday it seems to be high quality and throws a good beam. Pretty pleased so far. It's raining here so I have not used it yet.
