Mountain Biking - Help: Cannondale Prophet Cable Housing Problem

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I'm building up an '05 Cannondale Prophet 4000 and I am having problem with the derailleur cable housing. I am using the standard 5mm cable housing and it doesn't stay in the cable guides. It doesn't fit and the guides don't seem to be the standard size. Does it have something to do with the fact that I'm not using a Lefty on it and it was originally set up for it? Or do I just need thicker housing? Thanks for your help.
Pic's would be helpful.
Are you using zip ties or silly plastic clips...or is it just supposed to snap in there?

You talking for the rear derailler? There should be a little plastic grommet that fills in the housing for the cable. Mine always popped out so I just started zip tying the cable down the swing arm. It has a kind of funky bend and they always pop out on me.

^^^ What he said! There is a plastic barrel that slips onto your cable housing and then fits into the guide. Mine slides out of the guide after awhile so I just a velcro cable tie to hold it in place. I just wrap it around the downtube.
Thanks. I got it figured out... unfortunately those little plastic barrels cost $3 each and I needed 7 of them. What a racket.
