I have not been able to find a definitive answer on this. If there is an answer online I missed, please point it out to me.

I have a 7800 DA Group that I love but I want to use a compact crankset. I am considering using the Ultegra 6750 Crankset. Will my 7800 group work with the Ultegra crankset?

This chart would have me believe the 7800 derailleur will not function with the crankset.

I would suspect that the 6750 crankset will work with your 7800 group but I don't have any direct experience. An alternative for you might be to use a Shimano FC 700 compact crankset, which is compatible with your Dura Ace components. I use this setup on my Serotta.

Shimano's new 7900 Dura Ace components have some compatibility issues with both the 7800 series Dura Ace and all other Shimano 10-speed groups. AFAIK, 7800 series Dura Ace works with any other 10-speed group with no problems.

Will SRAM cranksets be compatible with the 7800 group? My assumption is yes, just trying to find out for sure.

I'd stick with the ultegra - keep everything the same, otherwise you'll be chasing ghosts if you ever have shifting problems where you've ruled out every other cause. I will say one thing about FSA cranks though - stay away from the gossamer.
