Hey, going to be down in Seattle WA next month for a few days. Looking for some help in finding a good hotel near lots of bars, nightlife etc. We're going to the game, but it doesn't matter if we're downtown or near the stadium or not. Stayed downtown about 8 years ago but don't, uh, really remember it if you know what I mean.
Prefer 4 star or better - any ideas? bars, nightlife etc would help too.
did the online google thing but i'd like some local input.

Check out the Edgewater hotel (http://www.edgewaterhotel.com/edgewater_home.aspx). Its on the waterfront, close to the stadiums, access to the trails, and close to the nightlife and bars (Belltown area).

There's also the Seattle waterfront Mariott down the street from the Edgewater too (http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/seawf-seattle-marriott-waterfront/).

You can't go wrong with either since they're located close to everything you were asking for. Hope that helps!

My fiancee and I visited Seattle this passed weekend. We stayed at the downtown Sheraton (http://www.hotels.com/property.do?mtnHotelID=287493). It was a great base; within walking distance from many many bars and restaurants. You could actually walk to the stadiums, but it's probably a mile or so. The room was a pretty good deal at $109, but they kill you with $40 valet parking :cry:

You could stay a few blocks away from downtown at the Days Inn for $80/night and get free parking. We stayed there last year with some friends. The place isn't nearly as nice, but you'll have more beer money in your pocket that way.

You said 4 stars. Assume you know what that costs in downtown Seattle.

Some choices:

- Hotel 1000
- Hotel DECA
- Inn at the Market
- W Hotel
- Hotel Andra
- Hotel Monaco
- Alaska Club
- Pan Pacific
- Four Seasons

etc.

If I were in town for the weekend I'd choose the Belltown area. If it's raining, I'd rather not be at the Edgewater or Marriott because you'd have to walk several blocks to get to bars/restaurants. The Hotel Andra, for example, gets you right in the middle of the action.

Well i'm not really up to speed on what 4 stars cost vs. what you get. I would assume 150-200/night USD is something average or above average. I don't really like places like Days Inn personally, the $80/night is okay but I like a little more comfort/luxury for my dollar. Got a few good links from friends too and I have a pretty good idea of where we're staying. Wanted to ride my bike but that'll just have to wait for when we get back to Vancouver.
