hey guys,
i decided to buy the hautacam this past week and have been using them for about 120 miles or so. some people said not to expect to buy shoes and have them break in much, but either i got used to them, or the mouth of the shoe (around ankle) loosend up a bit and now there's no pain whatsoever. for a B/B+ width foot with a relatively high instep (in skiing, someone who would wear a salomon or tecnica boots for a high instep), it fits very comfortably and i have yet to experience any new hotspots or what not. much more responsive than my tennis shoes i was using for a week. :) highly recommended, considering they're only $99.99 at alot of stores on closeout. Hard to beat the features imho for that price too...trek oclv carbon sole, very very light, spd, spd-r and look compatible, and instead of 3 velcro straps, there's 2 velcro straps and 1 wratcheting buckle which i like very much. :)

I passed on these simply because I didn't have the money and really didn't need another pair of shoes. But I tried very hard to convince myself as they fit so well and the combo of price plus features seemed unbeatable.
