Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Well-wishes and nice thoughts

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
From a friend's email describing his recent trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains and Skyline Drive:
"Gosh, Neil, I kept imagining you riding here!"
That made my day, although I'm unlikely ever to tackle Skyline Drive. The friend who sent it was the fellow who saw me unable to walk a city block four years ago.
Anyone else ever have someone say such a thing to you?

That is awesome! No doubt you'll ride Skyline when you decide to. You've already done the hard thing.
I've got nothin' quite like that one..
There are a number of things that started me riding again, but one I remember often was walking with a friend at lunch (there's a 1mi trail around our office) and having it start to rain. We got to the door and besides being a lot more winded than my skinny friend, I noticed my tie was wet and his was not.
I asked him how he had managed to keep his tie so dry? He just said...... I ride. (his chin/face projected in front of his stomach, hence shielding his tie from the rain...... mine did not).

My ex-wife used to tell me "I wish you weren't here", quite often.
That is a terrific wish and I'm sure a great encouragement. Skyline must be a very difficult ride.

I can only hope...

No, Peter, it's not hope, it's change. Make it happen. :thumb:

That's the plan! It just seems to take so long. Like right now - having to wait - 4 more days - it would not be so bad if I were doing something each and every day towards the goal...
