When I was in BoyScouts, our Troop used to ride from Peace Valley Park (Buck County, PA) to Haycock Mountain. We always had at least 2 adults riding with us, and usually 2 cars which followed carrying our food, tents, etc.
It's something I've thought about doing again as an adult, but without the car, meaning we'd have to pack/trailer all of our camping gear.
