We are taking the Burley to Ojai, CA, next weekend. Any favorite rides/loops that way? 1-3 hours long...

A really nice ride we have done several times.
We usually start in Carpinteria, but here are some directions from Ojai.

There is a really nice bike path separate from and running parallel to Hwy 33.
You can pick it up at Hwy33 and Hwy 150.
The bike path heads west all the way into Ventura.
Then in Ventura there is another bike path that heads north along the beach.
Eventually it turns into a frontage road and then you have ride on 101 for a bit into Carpinteria.
Then take Casitas Pass Rd east (Hwy 150), some climbing here.
Go around Lake Casitas and back to Ojai. I think its about 40 miles.

Enjoy

The ride out through Upper Ojai to Santa Paula is another possibility. Then, after Santa Paula, you can ride along the ocean from Oxnard on up to Ventura to catch the bike path back to Ojai.

The ride up into Wheeler Gorge makes a fine out-and-back. You can go as far as you like, and go back before the real climbing gets to be too much.

The bike path can also be picked up near Vons, shortly before you reach downtown Ojai.

There are some quiet side roads between Santa Paula and Oxnard.

There are also some scenic mini side-loops you can take right in the Ojai Valley. The roads that go up to Thacher School, on the east side, make for beautiful riding -- McAndrew Road and Thacher Road, for example.

Take a look at the Channel Islands Bike Club website's ride page. http://www.cibike.org/page12.html

Lots of good options.
