Hard to beat the WT for the money.

I'm not sure what the WT5 will be priced at but it has a 5-speed IGH so it's not technically a singlespeed but it has the same advantages a SS has over a derailleur setup.

the best commuter is only a singlespeed if you're going slow, near, and flat. anything else and the derailleurs are worth their maintenance.

that said i'd go for the fantom cross uno.

I love my Redline 925.

My only concern about the WT is possibility of severe toe-fender overlap. There doesn't appear to be a lot of clearance up front. Toe-overlap with the wheel is fine, but toe-overlap with a fender can be dangerous. There is some chance that the fender will get caught on the wheel and get sucked up along with the wheel and forced through the fork. This can happen even with slick tires. It happened to me once. My foot gently pushed the fender into the wheel, the fender got sucked through the fork, and locked the front wheel, ejecting me headfirst over the bars.

I have never ridden a WT so I can't say for certain that toe-fender overlap is an issue, but I would be weary of any bike that presented an extensive toe-fender overlap situation. There are other options, such as the Fantom Uno or the 925, that appear to have slightly shallower headtube geometry and appear to be more accommodating.

Perhaps someone who owns a WT, with fenders, can comment.

My Redline has some toe overlap even with the relazed geometry, but it's more annoying than dangerous. I also shoe horned some 700 x 35s in there under the fenders so it's even worse but still doable. Mostly comes into play when trying to trackstand rather than riding.

I love my Redline 925.

I heard the Redlines are nice - a bit pricey, aren't they?

I have toe overlap with my fenders on my fantom cross uno, not too terrible a deal after the first hard kick I learned to stop doing that. its a 52 frame, for what its worth.

Fender overlap on a WT would probably be pretty severe. I have clipless pedals on mine with 40mm tires and I have a lot. I would imagine it's even larger with toe clips
