I'm not quite ready for a century, but have just mapped a ~60 mile route that takes me from Silver Spring, MD to Poolesville via the W&OD trail through Leesburg, VA. If anyone is familiar with Poolesville, MD and could provide some info on a good place to leave a car overnight I'd appreciate it.
No, I am not familiar with Poolesville, MD, but just a few thoughts on finding overnight parking in places.
If they have a train station (Amtrack, not a commuter train if possible) or a bus station, many of them have overnight lots because people go away.. If not, you can always find the phone number of the local police station and ask them. When I did a bike tour around Lake Champlain in NY state, I asked a cop I saw walking around and he talked to his office and they suggested the bus station there so I parked there and went on a 4 day tour.. Also, check any local hiking/backpacking places or state parks in the area, they will usually have overnight parking unless it's a small park w/o any real backpacking type access.
Hope this helps... You can also try Google!

Looks like there is a good amount of public parking at LM Stevens Park in Poolesville--click thumbnail:

Jay, Thanks for the info. There's no train/bus station there, calling the local police sounds like a good idea. There's little info I could find on Google which was why posted here in the first place.
NoRacer, The park looks like a good option. Thanks.
If anyone cares, I can report my findings when I set shuttle.

You can park at the Poole's General Store. There's a quiet little road, just park along the field there. Its bucolic and out of the way. Poolesville is rural suburbs/very safe. Park along that big field near the top of the frame, just past the store.
