Thank you. It's called a "Cylinder-top" desk. It's NOT a "rolltop." I was inspired by a picture of a desk built for Marie Antoinette and decided to build a desk from scratch.
I made EVERYTHING for that desk from raw lumber. I sawed, surfaced, cut, joined, etc the case. I cut the veneer myself and glued it onto the exterior too. I turned and carved the legs too. There are no "man made" materials in the desk - everything is solid wood including the drawers (complete with dovetails). Solid Brass hardware (not plated).
The writing surface is black granite. The dark wood is air dried Walnut. The light wood is Red Alder (yes the stuff they smoke salmon with). The desk has 3 hidden compartments (No I'm not telling).

So mine's solid grey20 (in X Windows colors).

I will argue that all of Brazil is pretty flippin' nice. Even the dirt-poor northeast (We spent a week in Fortaleza after Rio and Foz do Iguacu) has great weather and fabulous beaches. Even Iguacu was great... but this is all OT.

very nice
Currently my laptop features a painting by Vera Brosgol (http://www.verabee.com), and my desktop is a picture I took of an abandoned cemetery in Utah.
So mine's solid grey20 (in X Windows colors). When I used ctwm or wmaker, my X color of choice was steelblue4. Very nice.

Current window manager of choice (and the one in the screenshot) is fluxbox.

Current window manager of choice (and the one in the screenshot) is fluxbox.I never could get into the *boxes. I miss my super-customized ctwm setup, though (hopefully I still have the config file somewhere. I spent a lot of time building it). Simple and light enough that a 400MHz PII was a perfectly usable main computer as late as 2007 or so.
If Ubuntu didn't work so well out of the box, I'd probably still be using wmaker at least. Good times.
Ooh I like some of the pieces.I came across her work on accident when looking for something else. I really like her style.

Same here. Actually, average minutes per week could be counted on one hand.

My p2/266 at home is set up identically, except in 1024x768. I was an icewm guy for a long time. Then I tried Openbox and liked it, but hated writing XML for the config files. So I moved onto fluxbox and the config file format is more human-friendly. Both the home machine and the work machine run Debian Lenny.

I like the colour and it isn't busy. Nice spot to put icons on the side where it doesn't interfre with the image, although I don't have desktop shortcuts much.
