Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Newest deal I got off craigslist

Before anyone gives me crap because it is a Republicbike.com bike, lets just say the price was to good to pass up. The bike was owned by a guy that worked for them and is now moving out of the country so needed to sell it. Here are some pics.

I would rather have $399. Maybe if it was 200.

so do you want a bike just to have one? or do you care about quality and the actual bike itself? 'cause if you dont care, buy it and that's that. if you do care, you'd research more and find out what's good/not good.

399 is a lot for a crap me-too bike.

My buddy's gf has a baby blue republic. She ate it hard and it seemed to hold up. We all laughed.

And F.Y.I.- I would never pay $399 for that bike. I did do research. I would buy a kilo tt A- cause it is true track geo B- better parts C- less $. I am going to be buy a bike for the velodrome soon. So this bike is just for the street.

I like them a lot too. I just got to try to cover up the chipped paint in the back.

i've seen a few of them around my campus recently.

$99 is a steal. Would make a nice winter beater. Nice find.

[Edit] Also, the low spoke count is fun. But I don't know if that's safe on **** generic rims.

It's a steal, but a Kilo is $250. More money for upgrades.

i'll probably have one so anyone who visits me can have a bike to ride with me. Or ride to places where my bike might be stolen. Great find.

what, i'd say it's a good deal. you find bikes on craigslist for $99 that say "needs new tubes/tires, a little rusty, maybe a new saddle, new griptape, but otherwise a good bike (that just needs a little love)."

Thats really nice for $99.00! :thumb: but I must say that I'm also here to "rant and rave" about my Madison. :p

Why does the fork have fender mounts but not the frame? Makes no sense to me.

the real question is what do you think? do you like orange? do you like oury's? do you like cut bars? answer yes to any or all and you have a winner. I have oury's and chopped bars. I have blue though, but they're getting pretty black. I might switch back to bar tape sometime soon.

personally, i don't like match my handlebar grip colors to my frame colors. That's just me. Esp if they're bright orange.

It came with Sugino 170mm crank. Not bad. The guy told me that this was the 1st edition of republic bikes. Not sure if the new ones come with the same crank
