Tandem Cycling - A Cool Gift

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

A couple non-cycling friends gave this to me today, a belated birthday gift:

I was totally delighted. Now to choose a picture to put in it...

Tandems appear in unusual places as a motif. The college sports fan can get NCAA tandem sports figurines (http://www.bizrate.com/ncaa-shop/figurines-bobbleheads-big-tall/).

Tandems even made it into the political arena last year . . .
There are some unique tandem-type gifts out there.
We have a metal silhouette of a tandem couple (circa 1890s with female pilot/male stoker) on our at-the-curb mailbox with the message: 'We love . . . to tandem'. Gave it to Kay as a Valentine Day gift about 20 years ago.
Also a 'welcome' ceramic oval sign with a tandem duo at the entrance to our atrium.
We also have a couple miniature tandems; one made out of glass and one that can be used as a decorative pin in which the wheels actualy spin, the headset and cranks turn. Even has 36 spoke wheels, all hand-made out of brass.

That looks like a Rebour. If it is that's a pretty sweet card there.
