Able to outrun a speeding train! Well maybe not SPEEDING speeding!:D It was cool though. I was out on a 55 miler today on a different trail than usual (San Gabriel Trail). I was on the way back about 35 miles in when I noticed a train go by. Wel I thought it went by but actually I was catching the train! It was speeding but doing a good pace. I think because it's somewhat of an incline heading back towards the mountains. Maybe 15 cars at most so it wasn't a big train.

I'm doing about 18 at this point but after watching the train for about a mile, I figured I could catch the sucker! So I pick it up, pumping hard doing about 21 mph. After 2 miles I finally catch it!:thumb:...As I'm closing in on the last car I whip out the camera to take a pic, snap snap! My next move is to tak a pic after I catch the engine. Just as I catch it, again I whip out the camera a second time. I push the power button and NOTHING!...What the HEY! I try over and over again trying to keep pace with the train but the darn thing won't work. So I have to stop and pull out the backup batteries. I figure I can catch it again. Put the batteies and darn, nothing!

Finally realize my dear ol camera is on the blink! Gawd I'm gonna miss the sucker! I can use the cell for pics but not sure if the resolution will be good, we'll see!

Well either way, I missed the train pics. I can't even get the first two pics I took cause the stupid camera won't even go on to load! Now nobody will ever believe that I'm really Superman!

But it was cool running down the train. Couldn't have been going that fast but it was cool anyways!:thumb:

Technically, Superman is faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive ;)

I know you guys wouldn't believe me without the pics!:D

I caught up with a train recently. Only mine was going perpendicular to my direction of travel, so the story wasn't as good as yours. :)

Beanz is Superman.
His Super Power is electrical and sometimes drains his camera batteries.

My "superpower" story: yesterday I got in front of a Lotus Elise and kept in front of it for five minutes!

(Of course, we were both caught in city traffic shuffling from one stop light to the next -- but that doesn't count, does it?:innocent:)

I once had to pull out to pass a moped while on my fat-tire touring bike. Does that count?

A train coming up from the L.A.-Long Beach Harbor area? It probably wasn't the batteries in your camera, but the kryptonite the train was carrying in those 15 rail cars it was towing. That stuff and its green glow does have a way of screwing up the best plans of any superdude. :D

You know I saw the gren glow but it was the San Gabriel Trail. Train passed thru a small tunnel, walls covered with graffiti, I thought it was a reflection of the paint!.............I should have known better!:p

And all comics fans know that one of Wonder Woman's biggest patronesses is...

...say it with me...

...Athena!

(see, it all ties together, somehow)
