Foo - Did anyone else see Yoko Ono kill it on Jamie Fallon's show?

That cute little gal came out and hit the mic with a solo of Yoko-noises before bringing the band in like nobody but she can. She may not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you get it, you really got it tonight. When I see kids today doing supposedly out there stuff, I think of Yoko or Bowie and see that nobody's even in their neighborhood.
I was hoping for an interview, but no dice.

there's a reason why certain people such as ono & bowie are still around;
they're true artists and have refused to settle in for their whole careers
with a certain theme or sound. one thing hasn't changed; there was then
and will always be derivative fluff accounting for a vast majority of
artistic work at any given time. you may not always like the output
(at least initially) but you have to respect artists who steadfastly
refuse to conform to a comfort zone-even if it guarantees economic
stability. two of my favorite such "true" artists from the 20th century
are picasso & miles davis. both arguably could have been richer (though
neither was exactly penniless) by pursuing the tried & true but could not.
a current one that comes to mind is bjork.

apparently you don't know as much about picasso as you think you do.

I love Yoko except for what she did to the Beatles :p
Yoko Ono should have done a duet with Bob Dylan on his Christmas album, as that is the only thing I can think of that could make it worse than it already is.
"Yoko Ono Sings Songs written for Bag Pipes" is also a concept she should look into.

I'd like to note that marrying John Lennon probably didn't hurt in the economic stability arena, either. When you're financially taken care of, it is easier to "go against the grain".

Yoko's awesome.
OP, you like the Boredoms and/or Deerhoof?

Er, wait, did you just insult bagpipes?

jsharr, you better watch out,the scots will be after you for the insult to bagpipes.
She killed it, and the noise she was making was the same noise the poor suffering "it" was making as it died.

I understand the inventor of the bagpipes was inspired when he saw a man carrying an indignant, asthmatic pig under his arm. Unfortunately, the man-made object never equalled the purity of sound achieved by the pig.

I think it was Robin Williams that compared the sound of bagpipes to a cat being raped.

There's got to be a banjo joke in here somewhere too.

Why do you hate banjos?

If you drop a banjo and a set of bagpipes at exactly the same instant from a 10 story building, which will hit the ground first?
Who cares!

It would be OK, if she only wrote it and didn't sing it. If my cats could sing, it would sound like that.

Hey, don't be too hard on yourself. With the vocals causing you to slam your hands over your ears and the visuals making you consider using a staple gun to secure your eyelids in a closed postion, none of us are really going to hold your inability to tell the Lennon sibling apart against you.
