Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - I did not realize it, but this week has been huge for me

And it is not even over!
I have ridden 4 days and ran 1 so far. Total elevation gain has been 5000ft +. All my riding days have been climbing, 2 of which were started before 6am (went out at 4:45 am today and had a friend meet us at the top on Tuesday to cook us breakfast at 7am). One of the other days was spent down near the beach, hilly and nice. And I am 4 pounds from hitting 50 lost.
I think I will wrap it up tomorrow with an easy paced flat 30 miler tomorrow. Rest Sunday.
How is your week going?

Great job! Where do you live, that is some decent climbing.
If the riding week starts sunday, I rode up Palomar mountain Sunday. 27 miles, 4600ft or so of climing. I took Monday & Tuesday off because my oldest daughter broke her arm Sunday night so we have to write out her homework for her. Wednesday I got out and did my 17 mile bike path loop (about 600 ft climbing), with the Magicshine light for the first time. Light worked good, actually set a new time record for that loop, I think it was due to no wind. Went jogging last night. 1 mile or so with my youngest daughter, then about 3 more miles by myself. Date night with my wife tonight, going to do the Tour de Julian Saturday morning.

I've had a slow week. A 17 mile MTB ride on Monday, sick on Tues, dentist on Wed then a 57 miler on Thursday (San Gabriel trail). Saturday and Sunday will be 50 milers on the Santa Ana River Trail with Gina.:thumb:
It was a good tough MTB ride though

The entire trip was 27 miles or the climbing section was 27 miles? 4600 in 13.5 miles would be alot!

30 feet of climbing? So you're a climber now?:D
San Gabriel Trial isn't nerly as nice as the SART. But it's much easier to get to on a weekday. Road is terrible, I worry about losing a rim on that road!

Well, it paid off I guess. I lost about 5 pounds this week. I have now lost 50 pounds.

It is 13.5 miles each way from Harrah's to the store via South Grade Rd. Start at about 800 elevation, about 5400 at the top. So you gain about 4600 ft in 13.5 miles, and the first mile or so is pretty flat. Once you turn onto 76, there is only one short section that you can coast. The rest is uphill. It is tough, but very rewarding to reach the top.

My hat is off to anyone that can ride Palomar Mtn!!!
Years ago - in the early 1950's, I used to work at the top of Palomar in the state park as a junior counselor at the family camp.
We DROVE up and down the south grade a lot, but it never occurred to me at that time to ride it on a bicycle, I never saw anyone else, either, on a bicycle. My 2nd cousin (Mendenhall) used to own a lot of land on Palomar.
