I just bought this track bike for 50 dollars. Obviously its gonna need lovin, but I've decided to keep the fork and gonna rechrome it. It has campy headset, bb, seatpost; all of which I'm keeping. Suntour superbe pro track hubs laced onto campy wheels, with a killer 3t/basso stem. Anyways, I saw the other "before" pic post and decided to put mine on.

Very nice. This definitely has potential. What color are you going to make the frame? (I'm just going to assume it's going to be repainted...if not forgive my assumption)

I don't know what color yet...i have a blue bike, a red one, so i was thinking some sort of green. Im totally stoked about it, taking the bike apart is going to be fun. The frame is colombus tubing, Im curious to see if the fork is too.

Great color......I just painted my tour bike frame chalkboard flat green....out of a rattlecan. Actual chalkboard paint so I can even scribble on my frame.

Yea, I can't fathom this being the original paint job. I guess you just have to ask yourself how much blacker could it be?...None more blacker? (Is that how it goes?). Anyways, thanks you guys, I'm stoked and eager to get started. I'll hopefully have a finished product to show off in a month or so.

Most Basso frames have this type of slash two color scheme yours is just straight black?

Yea, but to me it seems the color isn't original. It's an older frame, the fork is covered in rust (looks like mere surface rust), so the black could be a later addition. Although it still has it's colombus tubing sticker on, can those be bought later as well? (Beautiful bike by the way, jeff)

Thanks, what that pic doesn't show is the hyperfragile italian paint job that nicks on the slightest contact with bikeracks... :\

Also the blue in the pic is more of a purple in real life, not my fav color... I'm thinking of having her powder coated in a bright metallic orange with blueish detailing on the fork crowns, seatstays, etc. and no decals :)

dude, just shut up and give me your bike. That way, you won't have to worry about paint, etc. :)
