Vehicular Cycling (VC) - Taking a VC class on Saturday need talking points.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

For the most part I VC, but mix it with AC for flexibility.

In short VC falls flat because the current vehicle code does not allow bicycle vehicles to be bicycle vehicles.
Our current vehicular laws are written for the purpose of the motor vehicle's, rather than all vehicles or afoot. This is why Arizona lists several areas of travel where the right side of the road is not where you're suppose to be. This contradicts itself as you could just list the very few times you do ride to the right? However what the real reason is, rather than your safety, is to address your speed.

This code works really well if I was in a motor vehicle. As soon as you step out of the cage and see the 40 mph speed maximum suddenly it all makes sense. The sole purpose is to allow people do the speed maximum with one type of transportation. Clearly anyone going 12mph is going to see the danger with this bumper car notion.
That is where the AC takes over and says screw this bias crap part of the law.

So tomorrow school 8 am to 5 pm. Get up at 6. Arggg 15 mile commute lots of VC on that route.

If I had any questions that I thought I needed an LCI Instructor to answer or any issues that I needed to discuss with an LCI Instructor I might take a VC class. So far that event has never occurred.

If YOU have any questions or issues to discuss, I suggest YOU bring them up with the LCI Instructor.

If he is a she and cute, please ask her if she does pity sex...then give her ILTB's number...he's gonna need pity after the hapless Pensyltucky Puddy Cats get their butts handed to them by the even more hapless Ohio State Numbnutz. :D

That reminds me, what kind of Real Man™ would take a VC class, or do any other wimpy, girly activity on Saturday during Football season?

I've been eating Cheese Doodles for a week building up a mighty big thirst; what kind of beer ya gonna get for me?

I believe the question at this point (<cough> 24-7) is not only "how thirsty are ya", but what kind of beer are ya gonna buy ME?
I've got a taste for something dark, imported from Germany. :thumb:

Oh man, too bad. San Diego is hosting a 10 day long Beer "Week." I guess when you're drinking good beer, a 7 day week just isn't long enough. ;)

"Recently named the top beer city in the country by Men’s Journal, San Diego is
hosting it’s first-ever San Diego Beer Week this November 6th-15th, 2009."

I'm sitting here enjoying a nice bomber (22 oz) of Pure Hoppiness myself.

So are you sure you want something "dark and German?"

The Bucks earned your beer, fair and square. Let's both root for the tOSU to beat the Pac 10 demon in the Rose Bowl.

For now, you will have to be satisfied with the taste of Yuengling Traditional Lager, by proxy, as that is what I will be drinking today as I ride and enjoy 75° weather.

When we met up some day I will pay off in Real™ suds.

Pretty much the same kind of guy who would schedule and teach one when the ball game is in town...

Guarantees that you'll have some traffic to ride in. ;-)

Of course, they made me take my road test for the LCI certificate sharing the streets with the Race for the Cure ;-)
