I'm moving from Peoria, Illinois to Tucson, Arizona in early January. As of right now I'm riding about 10-20 miles a day but that's in about 40-60 degree weather. Has anybody else made a similar move and how was your riding effected? What differences should I expect?

Moved from Michigan to Tucson 31 years ago.
In Michigan we rode about 4,000 miles per year. Notched up to 10,000 miles a year in Tucson
You can ride 13 months out of the year here!
Now retired and in our mid-70s and riding 4,000 a year again.
No regrets!

The weather her right now is perfect for riding. I went out for a short ride and it was only about 80. I am just getting into cycling but I know that Tucson has been name one of the best cities in the country to bike.

You should move to Peoria, AZ so you can keep your same name.
Tucson is a great city for riding. You'll love it.
I moved to Phoenix from Wisconsin 3 years ago. Biking year-round isn't a problem here. In the summer you need to start out really early but it's still doable. I noticed I can tolerate the heat well but I do ride slower when it's 100-110.
40-60 degrees you'll see people in coats and hats down here! Most of the year the weather is perfect for biking and clouds/rain are rare compared to Illinois.
Another side benefit of the move... I worked as a computer programmer in Wisconsin. Sat at a desk all day. I weighed 195 before moving out here. I now weigh 155 since I can bike and work out year round (and frozen Custard/Butterburgers are free for me so that's an accomplishment!).
P.S. I know Phil from the East Peoria Culver's Frozen Custard restaurant. Tell him hi from George (Culver's of Phoenix) if you're in there before you move down.
