In this age of the interweb, information is easy, cheap and available. But it is also CRAP much of the time.

Here is what I found just now, looking on you tube for steamed puddings. A "chef" teaching us how to use instant out of the can crud. Get rid of him!

If you want stupid experts, look no further than Chrysler engineers.

Some are smart, but holy cow they've made some lousy crap.

The most annoying thing about the OP video is the fact the stupid woman says "Oh my gosh" I freaking HATE that. The correct epithet is "Oh my god." Gosh still means "God" so you're still gonna do time in Hell for taking (your) lord's name in vain. :twitchy:

The English don't know how to make chips.

You need to go to Scotland to get chips. Glasgow, preferably.

Powdered custard seems to be the equivalent of Jello instant pudding.

Well, at least the spotted dick wasn't canned. Pity they didn't actually show that getting made, since it is the main part of the dish.

Youtube - custard with no powder (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLksUVCANGo&feature=related)

I like this better - "about a teaspoon" pours some into a tablespoon.

Huh, I never knew it was so simple.

But they did invent the deep fried Mars Bar. Surely that has to rate on your culinary index?
