Here's mine. It's a great bike for the price. I got the carbon fork upgrade for $30, and it was worth it for the weight savings. I've since made some upgrades, such as lighter Kenda Kaliente tires, carbon seatpost, a 48T chainring to replace the 46T, and 90mm stem instead of the stock 110mm. Very comfortable overall, corners great, and feels very stiff when I stand and mash the pedals (which I do most of the time). The paint isn't very durable, though, so make sure you have some satin black touch-up paint, because you'll need it.

very nice^^^ What size crank? 165? Do you notice that eightinch raised the bottom bracket 10mm compared to other bikes?
Aaron_F

Yeah, 165mm crank, because it's what fits me properly. I read they listened to customer feedback after the first set of frames were sold, so when they had version 2 made, they raised the BB. It was a good choice, in my opinion.
This is my friend on his. Just got purple handle bars... For some reason.

Looking pretty sweet. I'm thinking about buying one of these framesets to step up from my conversion, maybe white with the carbon fork.

Eighthinch is out of the white frames and most of the balck ones. I think the white frame was something temporary.

Hey Sean,
We sold out way faster than we expected on white frames. We have more in production and we expect to get them in mid-December. We are going to start taking pre-orders December 1 and hopefully by then we will have a more exact arrival date.
Thanks!

Gonna be stoked when they get more white frames in.
What's the deal with the sizing of these frames? They seem a lot smaller than other frames of the same seat tube size. Does it have a particularly tight geo? Is it because it's semi-compact? I want to order one of these frames soon, normally I ride something within the 51cm range, which Wheel and Sprocket has in stock, but I'm wondering if I should just wait for Eighthinch to produce more 53's?

I actually liked the pink grips.
New bike looks good though. It would look sick with a matching seat!

Thanks Fu. I do like the pink grips as well, but already had the green accessories here and wanted to check how they looked on the bike. Further down the line, once I get tired of the all-green look, I'll probably put on the pink ones again. I dread when that day comes, though. Changing grips is a PAIN IN THE ASS... and that's an understatement.

can't lie, I've seriously thought the same thing... and also, a black chain. Might be doing it sometime soon.

They do "run small". jack up the seat and space your stem and it fits like "normal" size. Just read the geometry chart. I bought a 57, based purely on what I normally ride in a road bike, should of bought the next one or two sizes up. I'm trying to sell my 57 real soon like and pick up the 59 or 61 when they become available again.

I fit a 51cm Trek perfectly at my LBS, then compared its geometry with the EighthInch before ordering. I ended up going with a 53cm. Definitely measure twice, order once.

Can I trust the numbers on Eighthinch's site to give me a good idea of what to expect or is the real bike pretty different? From what I've seen the geo seems really tight and the slightly sloping top tube throws me off. I'm pretty confused by what Eighthinch refers to as "virtual top tube" and "actual top tube," does anyone know more about this?
Sorry for all the incessant questions.
Aaron_F

The top tube does slope, but only a little. Standing about 10' back from the bike, it'd be hard to tell it's not flat. I like the slope, though, because it gives me just enough extra standover clearance. Yes, you can trust the numbers on their site.

Just curious, Why Would anyone buy the carbon fork instead of the standard? Is it a lot lighter or something? What is the reasoning?
Cy Trivialities

it has to be lighter, the steel fork is a brick.
i like jumpin the curbs and stuff though, so i stuck with steel.

my carbon fork has been over curbs. i figure they make mountain bikes out of the stuff... if it breaks i will post pictures. i promise

It's been down curbs without any sense of wear, it gives me a much smoother ride which I like. It is lighter but not significantly lighter, and I think it looks a lot better then the fork that comes with the scrambler
One more question guys, then I'll stop I swear. How long is the seatpost that comes with the frameset?
