My old lady gave me a surprise today!!! Well, I haven't actually gotten it yet, but she ordered it.

I should have it in about two weeks :D
Very nice - what does she think about you calling her your "old lady?"

Glad to see SOMEONE's old lady treats him well. I ask my girl, hey baby, you wanna go with me to watch the criterium this Saturday? Expecting her to reply eagerly in the affirmative, the doting way I envision women should be, she instead replies assertively, "ummm...no." She don't ride a bike, she ain't got a bike, and she apparently don't care that her man likes his bike!
Well, but she cooks for me, so that's a plus. And she's easy on the eyes.
G'day,
not even close to the best GF in the universe!.....My wife let me spend $8K on a new bike, of OUR money. She has absolutely no interest in sport, cycling or otherwise!.....she 'threw' me for a minute though, I had this whole reasoned speech about how much i needed this new carbon masterpiece, (even though i don't).....& she just said 'OK' before I'd even started my spiel!.....now that is a fine woman!,
cheers,

heh, it's a good natured exchange between the two of us. FOr the record, however, she started it by calling me her old man about two years ago.

Wow, looking at your signature, you deserve that jersey. That's really incredible how much weight you took off. I've gone from 190 down to 175 or so in the past two months and I thought that was good.

Wow, sounds like more than one of you guys have an understanding better 1/2. ;)
In my case, most of my "ideas" are met with sighs and the ever so popular "rolling of the eyes"... :(
In fact last nite I was mentioning that my boss said he has an early 90's Miyata mountain bike that I might be able to snag from him real cheap. I got the "why do you need another bike, you have too many already" speech followed up later by the "All you ever talk about is biking" speech...
I guess my wife just doesn't understand the addiction...and the need to feed it... :p

Your weight loss is very good! You should be proud. Losing 180 pounds in a year isn't exactly healthy, I don't think, but I'm still proud of it. I was on a pretty hardcore diet and riding about 100 miles per week. Now, I eat whatever I want (still avoid fatty foods, for the most part) and ride about 250 per week.
Heh, the old lady was even cooler when she let me reward myself with a new Trek 2300! :D Gotta love that girl!

I'll bet loves having less of you around, that is less in weight, not time :D A more fit mate is always a plus!
While I’m here, I better expound on my wife:
We met when a mutual friend invited her to go on RAGBRAI with us. We started riding, then dating, then marriage, then a child. She researched our Tuscany tour, watches the Tour with me, let’s me take off for most of Saturday mornings for group rides and is even talking about a trip to France next summer for the Tour! I feel for you guys that have to choose between cycling and pleasing your wife :o
