General Cycling Discussion - Time to Beat

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Is there a certain time that you should be able to meet in order to be able to become a good biker? Ha my second real ride today, biked 30 miles in about 1 hour and 30 minutes or so. Beginning I averged near 20 mph, at about the second half of the trip I averged about 17-18 mph. Is there any times that you men/women determined to make, or is everyone different and time doesn't matter? I was told a good biker can do 40-50 miles in about 2 hours, but for some reason I don't know.
Who cares about being "a good biker"? You will improve as you ride more and just go out and have fun and enjoy riding.
