Dude really? I’m moving down the path minding my own business.
I roll up on you and your girl. I draft her for about 5 seconds until the people
In the other direction pass. I go around her and then pass you. I said nothing
Did nothing aggressive yet you felt the need to chase me down going up the
Barum Bridge then down to Glendale ave. You then turned around as though you made your point.
Ok my sprinting tri tough guy. If you want to race and show your manhood
in front of your girl at least let me know there is a challenge also when you
Do challenge me please make sure you aren’t wearing a sleeveless jersey with leg warmers. When you have Aero bars I though they were supposed to be effective at a higher rate of speed. If I was moving at your speed when I passed you and had aero bars I would have fallen asleep and forgot about
Defending my honor in front of my girl.
When I sprinted away frm you on the downside of the bridge I figured
You would have gotten the hint not to ride my wheel. Also how did it
Feel getting dropped by a Scattante? Good thing your girl wasn’t there to
Witness that part.
By the way she had a nice A$$.

Nice...
I drop ****** bags like that on my Scattante all the time. But when a Trek or Specialized drops me, its not a big deal. Why do certain people insist on chasing when they get dropped? I am going at my own pace and so are you. Leave me the *uck alone.

Dude really? Did it really bother you that much? Sounds like you both have some issues to work out. Next time just give him a look and have some fun, then wave when he leaves. Or slow down and don't bother. Pull a crazy ivan maybe. For all you know he was doing intervals and was resting when you passed.
To the mods: can we get a new sub forum for threads such as this?

Issues? Hmmm?
Why would he be doing intervals on a high traffic morning? Have fun? Ok I just got through doing a training ride and wanted to get home. Crazy Ivan, you must be watching HFRO.
To the Mods could we please get a trash can for thread replies like the one above?

I see so many tri-guys on santa ana river trail. Almost every rider has aero bars on their road bikes. Some of them pass me and I dont bother chasing them. Then again, when I actually tried to chase some of them, I couldnt because I already have been riding over 25 miles and its always near some starting point for these riders when I encounter them and they pass me.
I saw a couple the other day on santa ana river trail. The girl was HOT. Blonde woman with a really nice body. Her cleavage was showing through her sleeve-less jersey because she had the zipper down somewhat most likely for show because it wasnt that hot and they were riding the santa ana river trail. There are no climbs on that route that requires you to cool off with the zipper down. The only time I ever have my zipper down on my jersey is when Im going through hills or climbs and its over 80 degrees outside. The guy was ridiculously tall. When he passed me, even while on his saddle, it looked like he was atleast a foot above me. I wonder if that was them. They both had aero-bar clip-ons.
I can only remember two couples I came across on the santa ana river trail. Others were not remembering. Aside from the couple I mentioned above, there was a short stocky guy riding with a REALLY SMOKING girl with really short bike shorts on. This woman looked tall. Wasnt quite in shape as the above couple mentioned. She had a really nice body and she was trying to keep up with her boyfriend but she was getting dropped constantly. I passed her and the guy stopped once realizing I was between him and her. I kept going and with only half a mile to the beach, THIS GUY comes sprinting past me with this look on his face "HEY, I only let you pass cause my girlfriend couldnt keep up," look on his face. Granted he was better at keeping a steady pace on flats, I was totally catching up and right on their rear wheels going up those short hills. Imagine what would have happened if these hills were longer, I would have dropped him. But I couldnt keep up with him on flats. His sprinting didnt seem that impressive either, I think I could have taken him on a sprint.
Anyways this guy passed me. Got all the way to the end of that bike path at the beach and then stopped to wait for his girlfriend, who is probably 10 minutes behind him. That girl was really hot and she had short bike shorts on. This woman had super long legs and it was the best eye candy I have seen for months. She wasnt that much in shape though. But the first couple I mentioned looked fast. The woman wasnt breathing that hard but that tall guy was breathing hard just to keep up with her.
1st couple: guy was tall. like noticeably tall. The woman was blonde and looked like she competed in a few triathlons. both were riding road bikes with aero-clip ons.
2nd couple: guy was short and stocky. the woman had LOOOOONG legs and she was extremely sexy. the woman looked taller than her boyfriend. The woman was riding a Specialized Roubaix. I have no idea what the guy was riding. I know what the woman was riding because I was staring at her from behind for atleast two minutes just checking her out. I am telling you, she was 10 out of 10. And let me reiterate once again, that was the best eye candy for months and I still remember her long legs and her awesome behind.
If I am describing the couple you had a problem with then let me know, because that would be interesting.

One of our buddies and forum member Alex2 rides the Santa Ana Trail on aerobars and unzips his jeresy while doing his 100 milers out there. I aint riding with that dude anymore!:roflmao2:
Of course Alex could do GMR then come down and still spank your arse on the trail after 100 miles, with his zipper down!:p

I drop casual riders going 10 mph on the Santa Ana River trail all the time. And just to rub it in that I am a superior humanbeing, I yell out loud so the entire neighborhood can hear me, "ON YOUR LEEEEFFFTTTT!!!" as I pass them doing a full sprint for the intermediate sprint points on my Tour de Costa Mesa imaginary bike race!!

What is this "dropped" business about? Why can't you people just ride your bikes without giving thought to what others say and do unless they harm you?

I pass people all the time, and people pass me all the time. Either way, makes no difference to me. I might be at the end of a really long ride, and quite tired. Might even have someone pass me that wouldn't normally. I still don't really care. If I'm racing, then I'd care.

Sometimes when my husband is riding with me (ie pretty slow :o) and someone passes us, he will take off for a bit and try to keep up. It's a challenge for him. He will then come back and ride with me some more. It works. Probably a guy thing. :p

A guy thing?...I think not!:D
Last month on the trail we had run down a couple from far behind (maybe 1 mile, visibilty on the trail). The gal had a pink roaide with pink rims, hubby looked very fit, gal didn't! Not that it matters cause we don't either!:D
We were just cruising at about 17-18. As we were about to pass, I started around the left and said ,"good morning" with a smile. She looked t us and shouted "PICK IT UP HONEY!!!!". Not only did she block my pass, they took off in a raging sprint. I laughed and said to Gina,"give her a minute".
Sure enough, she pooped her self out big time.:roflmao2: We kept the same 18 but blew by her like we were doing 32 !:p
It ain just a guy thang!:D

This is one reason why I ride a fixed gear with low gear inches. I am not able to pick up much speed which can otherwise tick people off when I fly by them at close to 30 mph on bike trails. You don't want to be on the same trail when I'm on my geared bike because I don't think I can control myself as a passer or passee...
Mr. Beanz

I've noticed that^^^^:D
You ride with a fixed gear and I ride with Gina. She won't give me permission to sprint ahead!:D

That's a relatively short, flat, path. People chase each other down all the time on that path. Whenever I pass someone I expect them to come after me. As long as they are safe about it, it doesn't bother me. I've actually become friendly with a few cyclists who have chased me down after being passed. A lot of times I will end up riding the next few laps with them.

I got it. The best I could do was come up with a lame reply. One of those days. For the cyclists that live close to G.P. it's a nice little area to cycle at, especially in the evenings. You have hills and roads that travel through the park some of which are closed to auto traffic. Then you have this bike path that runs along the freeway. It is pretty much free of peds and other obstacles, so you can crank up the speed if you so desire. 9 mile round trip that a lot of cyclists do laps on.

Ah thanks! I know riders that frequent the area but they tell me nothing about it.:D

lol
lol...you people are too funny. If I'm on one of the bike paths...count me as one of the 10-15 mph riders that get dropped. I'm relaxing and taking in the scenery instead of cranking it up and looking at asphalt.
I stay away from the tri folks, they don't hold a line too good esp when they are using the aero bars. If the guy is dumb enough to leave his hot gf behind to chase someone...well...
