Is the 04 Allez Comp Cr-Mo a good bike? I just figured less of Specialized since I rode a Hard Rock in middle school!

how would it compare to a decent Bianchi, maybe the EROS? I want to go with a non-aluminum, probably steel frame. no more harshness of my cannondale.

That's exactly the bike I ordered and am hopefully picking up this Thurs.

I've had good luck with Specialized in the past and decided to stick with them vs looking at other brands, although there were many that were tempting. I really wanted a cr-mo, double, and full ultegra and that's what this bike has. Also don't overlook the full carbon fork, no alloy steerer or crown, that's usually where other brands scrimp. Couple that w/ the carbon seat post...it's a hard to beat combo if you want a cr-mo frame.

The only other bike I had narrowed down was an Orbea Zona, but in the end I opted for the Allez Comp.

I like mine allot. Good ride etc. But I am no expert. Rode a Super Le Tour
early 80's - just got back into it.

I really liked that bike but didn't think the wheelset would be good to carry my 230 lb (at the time) around. The shop wasn't too eager to swap the wheels out, so I ended up with a different bike with stronger wheels. Still, I really liked the bike you're considering.

I've got the '03 model also. Really like the fit, but I did swap out the saddle pretty quickly.
I weigh 210 and no problems with the wheels so far.

I bought the '04 Allez Comp triple in April & am very pleased with it.
