thats pretty cool
I just don't understand why they all avoided that nice big flat rock that made a really nice transition down toward the bottom??? (I'm sure it looks different when you're there)

I see very few climbing videos on the web. I wonder why that is?
Fagerlin had one or two impressive ones.

Can anyone educate me on that seat?? Never seen one of those before. Does it go up and down like that??
It's not the seat (saddle)...it's the seatpost that's doing the telescoping.
Google "adjustable seatpost" and see what you get. There are several mfgrs out there now.
Huckin' the gnar-rad blue trail.

Just an uneducated guess but they probably don't want to fall on the jagged, pointy rocks and get effed up?
BTW, nice find on the vid, that "local ripper" Lance gave some excellent tips and backed it up with some smooth riding.

Hmmmm... Good luck riding that section like a puss, it aint goona work. Did you even listen to "local ripper" Lance's tips? Looks like a pretty high pucker factor from the top of that drop in to me, but I'm getting old and don't heal like I used too. Also, tough to "put a foot out" when your supermanning over the bars. That being said I would give it go on my RFX with flat pedals and some leg and arm armour. Doubt I'd make it clean though.

I have made that section clean once. Out of many, many attempts. It's way harder than it looks on video/in pictures. The upper and lower sections aren't bad, it's the ugly shelf section in the middle that is the crux move.
It's also normally got a nice fine layer of sandstone dust on top of the rocks that makes things interesting in the maintaining traction department.
Still, it's a really fun section to try on for size, and the rest of Horsethief Bench is a kick ass trail.

Well that is a particularly clueless statement.

Good Words!!! Ive seen a lot of **** I would normally not attempt, but with a bit of music and a look over I will ride back up the trail a bit and just hit it and see where it takes me. These are trails Ive never ridden before so I take them slow see the **** stopped and go after it full speed after. Yeah I have holes in my shins and calfs from my platforms and Ive gone OTB on more occasions than Id like but I bounce....most the time grab my bike walk up the trail and hit it again!

Clueless as in you apparently have never ridden it and cannot appreciate the simple fact that it is much more difficult than it looks in that video.
Your posts do a great job of informing everyone that you are a vain tool.
Good job!
Meaning, first of all, that you have to find the fine edge between going into it too hot and out of control and having enough momentum so the bike reacts correctly. You can't pick down a section like that. You have to decide at the top to "commit and hit."
Secondly, don't put a foot out. You're going to retain control by staying on the pedals and keeping your arse off the saddle. Confident, loose attack stance. When all is said, it is still sometimes easier said than done.

Why are you surprised that rational people have responded to the idiocy that you have posted?

because i fail to see the idiocy you speak of...dminor says commit and hit and i say the guys should atleast try it and i am bashed for it lol. i say put a foot down IF YOU CAN because you may fall, maybe you go over the handle bars then obviously there will be no putting a foot down.

True, but I do have to say the one time I've made it was on my hardtail with a slow and trials-y type method of picking my way down.
I was completely flabbergasted to find myself at the bottom, still on the bike and rolling into the smooth stuff. I think I nearly wet myself out of excitement.
Come close a couple other times, and have even been past the crux a couple more times only to eat it coming out of that bit.
Seeing better riders than myself totally smooth the thing out is most excellent spectating, and gets me pumped to work on getting it more myself.

The idiocy is contained in your posts.
Maybe you should have someone figure out how to hook up your printer, then print them out, then study the idiocy that you have posted.
After a few months of study, you might, just might, understand how silly your posts are.
If that doesn't work, jump in your car and try (emphasis on "try") to ride the Horsethief entrance.

I've never been there, but I absolutely guarantee that the terrain pictured in the video is very difficult to ride, much more so than it appears. That is the reason so many are walking it.
I have tried some similar (and, I'm sure 'easier') stuff in Moab, but I wouldn't even consider this. Way over my head. And I don't think putting a foot down is something one could rely on being able to do.
The guy in the video seemed to give some advice.
