Hybrid Bicycles - bianchi advantage year?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
i picked up a bianchi advantage in black, chrome moly tubing, with shimano 200cx stuff. the crankset is shimano fc-m202 with steel chain wheels. the front tire is marked bianchi advantage and the tires still have the chicken strips on them. maybe it's an early 90's?
edit; it's a taiwan tange tube job.
here's a pic.

Hi I've been lurking for a while now and have been reading about Hybrid bikes. I have the similar bike and would also like to know when this model came out. I hope you can help me too. I got this for $50 at a thrift shop. I had the chain and cables replaced and cleaned the entire bike myself. It has Shimano Altus C10 components that still work despite their lost shine.
its a steel frame so it needs to be a pre 1999. your steering stem, bar and shifters are different from mine unless someone changed it.

Andy that is a '93. the C-10 components really narrow it down. the color is deeper purple. nice bike

I changed the steering stem and added the bar ends just to give it a different look but everything else came with the bike when I got it. The seat is still very comfy. It's a better ride than my Miyata Ridge Runner.
Thanks for the info Bianchi Girl. I was inclined to replace the derailleurs because they were rusty and had partially seized. I used the aluminum foil trick to get rid of the rust then degreased both and dipped them in Mobil ATF. It now shifts easily. The cantilever brakes perform really well and clamp right away.

bought this bianchi advantage today. curious as to the year, has a pretty early look to it. shimano SIS components. any ideas? i probably overspent for it, but it was in rideable condition so i can add upgrades later.
